The morning after the robbery, it appears, “Sour Belly” an Indian, who some time ago hoarded at Stony Mountain penitentiary 011 account of his ardent fondness for other people’s horses, gave another Indian a Japanese dollar to procure liquor with. This Indian changed the dollar at Fred. Smith’s, who at once showed it to Hughes. The latter recognized it and informed thepolice. In the meantime, Sour Belly had got out of the way but after some time was located near Maple Creek, wheic he was finally arrested by the police on Monday after a hot chase of four miles over the prairie, lie was up yesterday before VV, T. Finlay, J. P., and evidence taken of his having tht coin, identified by Hughes, in his possession the morning of the rohbeiy. His own story is that he got the money from a rancher. He was remandedfor a week.
