He Dies Suddenly of Heart Disease at Guthne, Oklahoma, Yesterday. 7 . The following startling dispatch was received at this office at 12:30 this a.m. and will convey such information to many in this city: Special to the Dubuane Herald. Akk Kansas City, Kavs., April 27 —Wm. V. Herancourt died Saturday morning at 4 o'clock at Guthrie, Oklahoma, of heart dis ease Henry HERANCOURT. It will be remembered that Mr. Henry Herancourt, brother of deceased, left here about ten days ago to meet his brother at Kansas City. A late copy of the Kan sas City Times contained an account of the camp outfit of the brothers, and bade them a pleasant journey which, from the dispatch above, would seem to have ter minated in a sad experience. Mr. W. V. Herancourt was born and reared in this city, and at the time of his demise was about 39 years old. He was a product of our schools, and until within the past few years made his home here with his aged mother, brother and sister. When quite a small boy he entered his father’s furni ture store on Main street and remained there for a number of years. He found time in his leisure moments to improve himself in artistic drawing and sketching, and a talent which he naturally inherited was soon sufficiently developed to make for himself a most enviable reputation in the west. His birdseye view of Minne apolis, and subsequent etchings in and about St. Paul, won for him the greatest praise. Later he went to Denver, and soon afterward settled in Kansas City, where he established a studio and found himself in the front rank of western art ists. His studio was one of the most prominent in the west, and frequently has been referred to in our local columns. With his brother Henry, of this city, he went down to the new Eldorado, intend ing to engage in speculating, and no doubt would have succeeded but for the terrible affliction which has so soon ter minated the life of a bright young man. Mr. Herancourt leaves an aged mother, sister and two brothers, John and Henry, the latter now at Guthrie. The remains will undoubtedly be brought here for burial.
