Joseph Lawhead died on the 19th iuftt in the eightieth year of his age, lie was born in Virginia, emigrated to Ohio when young man, came to Belleville, this county, about I$40, moved from there to this place and from here to his farm, one mile east, where he resided to the time of his death. Mr, Law head was one of our best, most intelligent, sociable, charitable, refined, and congenial citizeis. He was a devoted father to his family, a member of the M. E.I Church, and an honorable member of the craft of F. A. M. He possessed to a high degree every element which ehareterizes the gentleman, the man of | worth and the unasuming ^Christian,I He met and passed the trials and vicis-I situdes of life with a Christian forbear-| ance commendable to ail. His exem-i plary life will long be a beacon light for j the guidance of his children, grand* * children and the young who knew him. I The body was followed to its final rest-| ing place by a large number of citizens | and friends, and buried with the han-| ors of masonry.
