Photo above, supplied by the State Armory Board, is of an armory building similiar to the one proposed for Honey Grove. Federal funds for the construction of the building have already been allocated, with the only require ment being that a suitable 5-acre site be donated. The Honey Grove Chamber of Commerce is spon soring a drive for $4,000, estimat ed to be the cost of supplying an approved site, with a tenta tive deadline for raising the money set for June 1st. The combination Guard armory and community center will include an auditorium with seating capacity of 500, two restrooms and kitchen facilities, which will be open to the public for community clubs and organi zations when these facilities are not being used by the Guard. The building will be of perman ent construction of brick and masonry with paved drill and parking area and suitable land scaped grounds. A specific site has not been selected as yet, but the Chamber of Commerce Com mittee and the State Armory Board are considering several loca tions for suitability and practica bility.
