HUNTINGTON BEACH, April 27.—Fifty flower and garden lovers toured the city yesterday in the annual Gar den club garden pilgrimage and by popular vote selected the winners in the annual yard and garden contest from among the 26 gardens visited. Major M M. McCallen’s garden, captured the prize in the profes sional division for large garden it was landscaped by Talbot, land scape architect of Long Beach. A box of candy will be awarded by Gordon Ethington. The Thomas Frampton garden on Main street placed first in the division of gardens landscaped and kept by paid hand. Richard Bee son, youthful, landscape architect is the designer. An order on the Schmekel nursery is the award. Mrs. C. W. Patrick, designer of her own home garden, captured the prize for the best designed gar den planned and kept by an ama teur. The Blanding nursery will give an order for the award. The George Wardwell garden captured the vote for the best outdoor living room. His award will be a garden tool from W. H. Warner. Mrs. T. O. MclIntyre was manager of the pilgrimage. President Guy M. Hamilton was in charge of the yard and garden contest.
