Sweepstakes Attract Many at GlendaleSeattle Women’s Golf Association Find Glendale Ideal LinksOn Tuesday, April 24, the last division of the monthly sweepstakes of the Seattle Women’s Golf Association was played off at the Glendale Golf and Country Club. The first and second divisions were played on the previous Tuesday. More than one hundred women turned out to watch and to take part. In spite of the unfavorable weather, seventy took part in the sweepstakes. Luncheon was served to a hundred guests, and later in the afternoon a social hour was pleasantly passed and added refreshments served.The Seattle Women’s Association is made up of members from all the city golf clubs. So far only twelve members of the Glendale Club are members of the association, but since this event, a great many more are expected to join. Each month sweepstakes are held on the links of a different club.Mrs. Sam Stone, who was in charge of the sweepstakes at Glendale, is being congratulated 011 the splendid way 'in which details were arranged, making the event the success it was. Assisting her were Mrs. Stanley Blumenthal, Mrs. Louis Friedlander, Miss Gussie Gottstein, Miss Rose Gottstein and Mrs. Arthur G. Cohen.Mrs. Clarence Lehman was the only member of the club to carry away any of the honors 011 Tuesday, April 17, being first winner in the second division.
