With a quintet of schools entered for competition, the Alameda County Athletic League interscholastic track and field meet will be held on the U. C. oral Saturday morning, starting at 9:30. Alameda, Fremont, Oakland, Oakland “Tech” and Berkeley are the schools that will compete in the meet. Berkeley has an exceptionall strong team this season, and although losing the interscholastic meet at Stanford a few weeks ago to “Tech,” the local athletes figure to win from their Oakland rivals Saturday. First honors in the coming A. C. A. L. will be hotly contested by these two schools, and some clage competition is promised in several of the races. Berkeley, however, has the advantage in field events, which is apt to put the m meet on ice for the local school The feature race of the day prom ises to be the 440-yard run. Sisson of Berkeley and Sanders of Oakland “Tech” are the contenders for first honors, and it is expected that a new record will be established if these two runners furnish the competition they did at Stanford. In the previous meet ,the Oakland athlete broke the tape a fraction before the Berkeley captain, but Sission has been training har since, and is confident of defeating his Oakland rival Saturday. Williams of Berkeley is looked on as an easy winner in the 880-yard run, while Olds of the local school will drive the field a hard race for first hon ors in the 100-yard dash. Now that Calden of “Tech” is disqualified, due to a ruling of the league, Olds is picked to win by local enthusiasts. The league recently passed a resolu tion whereby a student who has been in school over four years is ineligible to compete in athletics in league con tests, Chalmer is sure to place in the 220-yard dash, while two first places are assured in the pole-vault by Jes sup and the discus by Breaman. Those representing the Red and Gold in the various events Saturday will be: Otto Jacobson, Thomas Chal mers, George McCord, Charles Meek, Wallace Kenny, Herschel Jessup, Al bert Swaale, Rob Young, Millard Pe terson, Warren Nevin, Oscar Garlick, Frank Graves, Alfred Clement, Kelsey Olds, Kenneth Williams, George Da vis, Walter Sisson, Cecil Matthews, Ed Jussen, Al Beaman, Earl Con verse. ,
