The one hotel in LaCrosse is the old Arnold hostelry, now owned by J. T. Phegley, and conducted by I. D. Young. This situation will exist until the Machler hotel now undergoing extensive improvements .is thoroughly remodeled. When finished it will be occupied by F. W. Klemm who will newly furnish it. Then, as soon as completed—Jerry Miller will open his new hotel which the carpenters are building as fast as possible, on his lot west of the Machler hotel. Will three hotels in LaCrosse be a paying proposition? Time alone will tell.
