(Western Capitalists Will Spend Quarter Million. Another Big Deal. Plans have been drawn by Holabird any eminent architects of Chi cago, lll. for a $250,000 club hotel to Be erected on the western end of Dau phin Island by a party of Chicago capitalists and others of several west ern cities who are the leading mem bers of the “Four Seasons’ Club,” an ization which is composed of onaires, among whom are the Havenmeyers. The members of this club play golf the year around and have selected Dauphin Island for their winter quarters, according to a state made on Sunday by President J. M. Dewberry of the Tidewater Securi ties Company. The deeds for the land are being signed in Chicago and the specifications and plans have all been completed and views of the hotel were exhibited in Mobile on Monday. In the past thirty days another party of Chicago's wealthy citizens have a deal for the purchase of a tract of land on the island just south of Fort Gaines and behind the great sand dunes. President Dewberry reports that the railroad from Alabama Port to Cedar Point, which is being graded now by a force of forty workmen, will be in running operation early in July and that the transfer boat will occupy about thirty-five minutes in making the trip across from the point to the island On Sunday last a large party of Mo biliang visited the island and enjoyed the surf bathing on the south beach. The breakers were the highest seen on the beach in some years, due to the fact that a southeast storm was blow ing for four days in the gulf. Among the visitors to the island were Dr. C. L. Crampton and wife, Dr. C. BR. Fowlkes, Arthur C. Tonsmeire, Secre tary of State John J. Purifoy, G. J. Flournoy and wife, Mrs. Li, L. Lynch, E. $. Crenshaw, George Sprinkles, H. H.Hudson, the latter being from Montgomery.
