Last year the team won state in the sixth-grade category and went to the world competition.Another local team, the PortFrom B1St. Lucie Double Dutchers, placed first in the doubles category and second in the singles category at a South Carolina invitational recently.Last year the team, made up of Kelly Tiller, Rhonda White, Melanie DeRosa and Dana Costello — won first place in the fourth-grade category and camein third in the world.Members of both teams say they will be glad when the long practices are through and state is behind them — regardless of the outcome.“I’ll feel better,’’ Tina Fruscella says. “You think you tried your best, so what you get is what you get.”
