A trial date is to be set for a 44-year-old North Hollywood man who along with six other men have been indicted on charges they participated in an in ternational multimillion dollar stock theft ring. The defendant, Nicholas Avenetti of 4934 Laurel Canyon Blvd., has been ordered to appear Monday before U.S. District Court Judge Manuel Real in Courtroom 14, $12 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, at which time trial will be scheduled. Avenetti was arrested April 3 and charged with violations of federal stat utes prohibiting posses sion, concealment and transportation in inter state and foreign com merce of stolen securities. According to the U.S. attorney's office, the secu rities involved were stolen in a truck hijacking from the Mark IV Freight Co. Inc. in Chicago, Ill. More than $30,000,000 worth of securities reportedly were waken in the theft. Allegations against Ave netti and the other men state that approximately $12,000,000 worth of stolen securities were trans ported by the defendants in two suitcases from Los Angeles to London, Eng land. Avenetti is free on $50, 000 bond.
