Mass Preheim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P P. Preheim of Mjari'on, S. D. Mtrs. Preheim is the former Edith Wenger, daughter of Mrs. P. P. Wenger ui Wayland and the late P. P-Wenger. Preheim.The blue-eyed 17 year old Marion high school senior received the highest score in a written homemaking examina-tion taken by 2,089 graduating senior girls in 139 of South Dakota’s schools.She will receive a $1,500 educational scholarship to the col-elge of her choice from General Mills, sponsor of this $100,000homemaking scholarship p r o-giam which enrolled a quarter million girls in more than 10,-000 of the nation’s high schoolsShe and her schoolHome El. teacher, Miss Carol Sieman will tour Washington, D. C., colomai v\ ulliamsburg, Va., and Philadelphia, April 8-12. Miss Prc heim will be a candidate foi the. Betty, Crocker American Homemaker, of Tomorrow $5,000 scholarship award which will be made at the nationally televised American Table banquet Apni 12, in Philadelphia.'Miss Preheim, who is especially interested in child care, plans to use her $1,500 scholarship to take nurses training, with particular emphasis on pediatrics.“Being the middle one of five children, and having lived all my life on a farm,’' says 'Misa Preheim^ “I’ve had plenty oa opportunity to learn aboui homemaking first hand. I thinn1 like sewing best of all my homemaking duties.”Another of her favorite activities is dramatics.
