Funeral services were held at 1095 Lee Street, in Americus, last Friday afternoon at four o’clock, for Mrs. M. T. Gilmore, who died there at the home of relatives Wednesday night, following a serious illness of several weeks. The services were conducted by Rev. W. G. Strace-ner, of Arlington, former pastor of the Pavo Baptist church, of which Mrs. Gilmore was a member.Mrs. Gilmore was, before her marriage in 1904, Miss Mae Howell. She ws born in Sumter county, near Americus, on Jan. 29,1880, the daughter of John T. and Sara Howell. In 19Q4 she was married to Mr. M. T. Gilmore, who preceded her to tne grave nearly ten years ago. \She\is surived by two sons, Messri Jno. T. and Lamar Gilmore, of Pavo/also three brothers and one /ister, as follows : Messrs.! Johrf E. Howell, of St. Petersburg/ Fla.; H. GordolJ Howell, St. Andrews, Fla.; Bartow Mowell,_^of Pitts, Ga., and Mrs. Rosa^H. Walker, of Tempe, Ariz. Besides these there are a host of other relatives, besides many friends, who mourn her passing.Her body was laid to rest; near that of her parents and a, number of other relatives in a| family cemetery four miles j north of Americus, near’ the j place of her birth. |In the passing of Mrs. Gilmore Pavo has lost on of its most dearly beloved and highly respected women. In early life she professed Christianity, and in her daily life thereafter she manifested the faith which she had professed.
