ALWAYS IN TROUBLE.Donovan, Suspected of Highway Robbery,Accused of 29 Offences.The record of hold h jrhway robberies in Charlestown had another added to it yesterday.Charles Hayoy, a Sandwich Islander, formerly a seaman on a vessel lying: at Hposac Tunnel docks, was forcibly robbed by Jeremiah Donovan.Hayoy asked Donovan to direct him to the Providence depot. Donovan inquired where he wanted to go, and he replied New York.They tiad social drinks together, and when coming out of a saloon Donovan grabbed a roll of bills that Hayoy had in his hand nnd esrapt d.Hayoy reported his loss to the officersof Station 16, who recognized fiom the description, Jeremiah Donovan, an old offender living* at No. 16 Gray stieet, lt;hmrlestown.The man was arrested and will answer to the charge of highway robbery.Donovan has an unenviable record.His first conviction was on Sept, t, 1874, for disturbing the peace. He served twenty-five months in the House of Industry and has paid fines amounting to $110.55.He was arrested six times in 1874 for drunkenness, assault and battery end assault on an officer; once in 1875, twice in 1876, once in 1870, six times in 1881, throe times in 1882, twice in 1883, twice in 1881, once in 1889, twice in 1890, twice in ’91 andonce In 1893.In all he has been convicted twenty-nine times.He is 40 years old. unmarried, and lived when not in prison, with his mother and sinter, at No. 10 Gray street.
