Susies Design, Model ClothesFor 'Ups, Downs“The Ups and Downs ofFashion” will be shown atStephens College fashiondepartment’s annual springfashion shows at 8 p.m. April30 anti May 1 in Lela Raney Wood Ballroom.All designs are created, constructed and modeled b y students. Fashions by upper and lower division design students will include spring and winter woolens, summer sportswear and children’s wear.Awards for clothing construction, fashion illustrationand millinery will be given at the Thursday night show. Design awards will be given Friday night.C ONSTRUCTION awards, such as a bond or merchandise certificate, are being given by Neate’s Dry Goods Co., Tina Fabrics, Lucille's Yarns-Fabrics, C. B. MillerShoe Co. and the StegerMillinery Supply Company in St. Louis.Design awards include gift certificates, gold charms, dresses and cash awards.Local sponsors of these awards include Parks Department Store, The Red Paisley, The Novus Shop, Harzfeld’s Inc., Gibson Discount Center and Coiffures by Jerry.JUDGES for the show will be Mrs. Mary Brooks Picken,Fashon/international authority o n dress and dressmaking; Madame Eta Hentz, retired dress designer from New York City; Eugene Lebovitz, designer for Fashionbilt Garment Co., Kansas City; JohnFrawley, product manager of Slimwear for the Warner Co., Bridgeport, Conn.; and Mrs. Helen Boyd, fashion director for Cropton-Richmond Co. in New York.Mrs. Jannene Crawford, 2208 Oakwood Drive, and Mrs. Don Schubert, 1825 Ridgemont St.,will judge modelling.Tickets for the fashion show are on sale at the Assembly Hall Box Office or can be b ght at the door o n performance night
