She was one of the first graduates of Shaw ! I'niversity. Her teaching career began at the age of 15 in 1889: in Johnston County. She taught 8 years in Johnston County and 25 years in Wilson County and j City. Her teaching services ended because of poor health and age at Stantonsnurg, X. C., Wil-( son County in 1935.She was always a loyal and cooperative worker wherever she worked and her services were invaluable to the children and pa-tons. The elementay schoo! located on Stantonshug Steet. Wilson, X. C., mas named for her in recognition of the fine work she ■ad done.She leaves to mourn their loss 3 sons. 4 grandchildren. 2 sisters.6 brothers, and a host of relatives. She had many colored andmhite friends.The funeral services will heh*ld from the First Church. Sunday. April 29th. at3:HO p. m. Rev. F. M Davis milloieltu.
