Movies were shown at Clyde last Sunday as usual, in spite of the fact that the Cloud county attorney had received orders to force the theatre to close and record crowds were out to witness the shows. But the following Tuesda^ warrants were issued for Sam Blair, owner of the show, Mrs. Vashfci Hanson, assistant manager, Miss Mildred ; Pearson, ticket seller, and Lester Lewis, operator, charging them lt;’ 1 violation of the Sunday labor Adelegation from Clyde was in Concordia and complaints on which the warrants were Issued were signed by Rev Hall and Rev. Owen of Clyde. The violations are misdemeanors and are punishable, by $25 fines. .There .is no law against Sunday picture shows and the charges were brought under the statute prohibiting labor on the Sabbath. : No action has been taken against the operation of filling stations, drug Stores, sodafountains, restaurants, news' stands or other businesses which are open on Sunday. What further action, if any, Mr. Blair contemplates, is open for speculation and the final outcome is awaited with unusual interest.
