California Portuguese Relief Club, No. 1, held its regular meeting yester day and installed its newly-elected offi cers for the ensuing term, as follows: President, M. J. Santos; Vice-President, J. X. Dias; Secretary, J. J. Picanco; Treasurer, J. X. Dias, Jr.; Marshal, Jesse Silva; Sentinel, J. A. Azavedo, Cc. H. Gilman. Has sold out his business and since gone into the millinery, temporarily, at the old Red House stand. His show windows show some grand styles of the latest attempting prices. Everybody that knew the Red House or Mr. Gil man, knew that he understood this branch of business as a buyer, and his salespeople knew how to sell it. Mrs. Gilman will take charge of this de partment—as it is now exclusively mil linery—for the present. . . Your Time Is Short. The second installment of pianos will arrive Monday or Tuesday. BOWDEN—In this city, April 23d, Richard Bowden, husband of Margaret Bowden (father of Ellen M. and the late Richard and Stephen Bowden), a native of Dublin, Ireland, aged 180 years, 4 months and 2% days.
