HINTS Tf TOUKtSTS.faoyeeV(Ivice to KaMtern Profile Who Want to See a 4-rand I'omitry. The Homer Index savs: Duringthe next two months the State will beflooded with tourists who want to seethe grand sights of the Pacific coast.J There are at least ,a dozen excursionparties under way, and they will allprobably try to get to Yosemite by thehardest route that can be found.Tourists always build up obstacles, and then go home and brag abouthow hard it was to climb over them. The tourist who ha4 come here to seethe country and get a comprehensive idea of its grandest features should stop at Reno, take the V. lt;fe T. and C. C. roads south; then the Hawthorne stage to Bodie, ?7 miles, where, if lie be an intelligent person, lie will find mneh to interest him; visiting MonoLake, the “Dead Sea of America,” and viewing its volcanic w'onders and sublime natural surroundings. Thence to Lundy. 25 miles, by Orrin Miller's stage line, where he will enter the portal of wonderland. Through Mill Creek and Lake canyons lie will view tilings of appalling grandeur and exquisite beauty; snow-crested mountains so steep and ragged that in many places they seem to overhang; crystal lakes and the wildest of torrents, teem-in with trout; game in abundance— sagehen, grouse, mountain quail, and, if the tourist be a bold Nimrod, he can find bear to test his courage and deer from which to obtain a juicy steak. All the way from Lundy to Yosemite it is a succession of wonders, such as no other section of the work! affords. Everything seems new. The tourist has another existence/fend feels as if the Creator had concentrated all the beauties of the universe in a small space of forty miles. That is the way to go to Yosemite and get the most juice out of the orange.ssid□isd
