The “Certificate of Recognition” was presented by Howard C. Scheil, past commander of the V. F. W. post, acting as master of ceremonies. In accepting the tribue and honor from the veterans, Mr. Ogsbury stressed the friendship ;Values that he had gained ‘through the long years of his association ‘with’ the Enterprise. (“Buster’’) Brown. In mentioning the word “friend ship,” Mrs Ogsbury said that many other words come quickly to mind, ‘such as: “faith, kind thoughts, kind deeds, fellowship, respect, admira tion, and others. .. How can the editor of a rural weekly newspaper write about the honors he receives, without laying it one too thick, or slighting the job? Well, the Enterprise can’t afford high priced editors and feature writers; someone HAD to do it. The story above is the result. If there are any discrepancies, any omissions, or if too much was said, the editor knows he is already forgiven, be cause he has received visible evi dence of the friendship of the V. F. W. group. Incidentally, the photo graphy work in connection with the dinner was done by Vernon Davis of New Salem, who accepted no fee, eEecause, Says it _‘* Ogsbury ! Thanks to Vern Davis! Others who shared the work of pre paring for the event were given due recognition at the‘dinner.
