Firsts and Seconds in dashes and hurdles will be eligible to compete in ithe Distdict Track Meet, whichas also to be (held for the first time in Montpelier on May wbMe three from all other events will be qualified to enter. From all indexations the Sub-Districtmeet will be close and hv fiainbest hitherto held here. Grace, Soda, Paras an}d( Montpelier arerated about equal; not much dope is available regarding Bancroft and Thatcher. MontpeJSer and Paris will fight it out for tsprints with the chances ajbjojujv even. Melvin Smith made thetime twoweeks ago, and should1 the day be hot, has a chance to place first. The hurdle prospects are not so good since an injured ankle will probably keep Richelson oust.Strong, however, is improving daily. If Richelson gets back, Montpelier has a good chance nlacmg first and second in theseevents. The weight men havebeen erratic all year, Humpherye, W. Aland, L. Aland, W. Smistlh, Teuscher and Homer will 'do theheavy work. Regnier,and Bruce are doing fairly well in the Bole Vault, Stephens willtry to better his 5'7” High Jump Friday; he is also- running the 440 and in the Relay and is in tiheJump. M. Smith did 18’lftin the Broad Jump class meet. Banks, member of last year's relay team has been sick the last week and it la doubtful whether he will participate. Miller and Wilcox are entering the Mile. Zera Nelson and Love*day will represent the Bears in V2 Mile. Both of these events mise to be close. Soda has aplace man back in the V2 Mile event but Nelso-n, with a liitftle timing, has a good chance to take his event.Officials for the meet are:tarter, Hatuck; Judges Finishes -f all Races: Winters, Likeness, ichardson, McGregor.
