CELEBRATES 80TH BIRTHDAY.One of the happiest gatherings It has ever been our pleasure to record took place at the home of John Cruise Jr. on Monday, April 22. This date marked the 80th birthday anniversary of Mr. Cruise and a company of relatives and friends gathered to help him celebrate the event A bountiful dinner was served at noon, after which Mr Cruise reversed the usual order of birthday celebrations and presented each of his children with a very generous and substantial gift. Later on the gifts which the children and guests had provided for Mr. Cruise were presented and the afternoon was made merry with music and visiting. The guests included the children of Mr. and Mrs. Cruise. Mr. Chas. Cruise and his family of Earlvilfe. Mrs. J. F. Merry. Miss Lucy Shimmin and Mrs. D. M. Amsden of Manchester.
