this culminated in their marriage Dec. 1 17, 1909, at the home of her slater, \ Mrs. Joe Roberts, in Davis township. Their marriedjife was a very devoted one and three children came to add to their happiness. Mary A. was born Aug. 31, 1911, Edward M. on Jan. 4, 1912 and Dorothy Lenore on June 19t 1913. The baby died Dec. 10th, but the others are living to cherish with their father the memory of the splendid woman who has past on to the future life.MRS THOMAS BOAZ.Death claimed a former Warren couty resident April 5, at Mooresville, Mo., in Mrs. Hannah Jane Boaz, a sister of Mrs. Mary M. Brier, who resides north of Attica.Mrs. Boaz was born in Warren county, Oct. 10, 1845. and was 69 years, 5 months, and 25 days old at her death. She is survived by the husband, one daughter —Mrs. Hattie Horoskey, of Norfolk, Neb., one son, Harley Boaz, of Morrisville, Mo., and seven grand-. children. Another sister besides Mrs. i Brier and one brother are also living—Mrs. Emma Goodrick, of Kan-\ sas City, Mo., and William A. Mor-\ phew, of Haskew, Okla.The Boaz home is two and a half i miles east of Morrisville, Mo., and the funeral was held there, Rev. A. JOSEPHINE BERNHART.i Mrs. Josephine Bemhart, one of the- oldest residents of this city; died at 1 7:00 o’clock Wednesday evening, (April 21) at the home of her daughter, Mrs.5 An tone Schmid; where she had resided* ever since she came to this coun try,* twenty-six years ago. Her health had t been failing for several months and she 1 had been confined to her bed all win-f ter with a general failure due to the t infirmities of old age..f Mrs. Bemhart was born and reared- in Sham berg, Germany, and was a* daughter of Paul and Mary Magdalene* Weber. Mr. Barnhart was a native of t the same place but in his young man- hood emigrated to America and settled i in Attica where he lived seven years.* He was married during that time, his f first wife being a sister of Mrs. Chris* I tins Bemhart, but she died after s fewyears and he went back to the fatherland. There he married Miss Weber in 1861, and in course of time six children were born to them. Seventeen years after his return to Germany Mr. Bern-hart died and in 1888 the widow and six children came to America, and took up their home in Attica. Four of them still reside here—Mrs. An tone Schmid, Mrs. Jacob Weineman, Mrs. Kate Reidlinger and Jacob Bemhart. John died April 2, 1909 and Joseph on June 22, 1906. She had three brothers, all of whom are dead, one of them having been Paul Weber, father of John L. Weber. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great*grandchildren.Mrs. Bemhart was a typical German 1 housewife, faithful to her home and her children, and was a woman of many virtues. She was a lifelong Roman Catholic and was very devoted in her attendance upon the services of the church. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock at the church and the service will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. John Oberholt z Burial will follow, in the Catholic cemetery south of the city.MRS. REBECCA E. WARD.Mrs. Elizabeth Ward, of Los Angeles, Calif., died Friday at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jonathan Davis, in this city, after a week's illness. Mrs. Ward had come from California to attend the funeral of her brother. Jonathan Davis, arriving here April 1st. She contracted a heavy cold while at the scene of the Wabash wreck April 5th and this developed into pneumonia, and caused her death. The funeral was held from the Davis home on east Pike street Sunday afternoon, with Rev. W. E. McKinzie officiating. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.Mrs. Ward was a native of Posey country, Ind., and was born Feb. 24, 1851. Her parents, Jonathan and Elizabeth Davis, moved to Illinois, thence to Newton county, Indiana, and later to Warren county, locating near Independence. Later they moved to Riverside, and there the daughter was married, 40 years ago, to Thomas Ward. A few yean afterward, she and her husband moved to Attica, and resided here until 14 years ago when she moved to Los Angeles.
