An 18-year-old LaPorte youth was killed instantly in a motorcycle accident at 5:45 p.m. Friday, April 18, 1980, in Tippecanoe Township, the third traffic fatality in Carroll County this year of which two were in Delphi. Bryan Eugene Sacks, 220 Park St., LaPorte, died of a fractured cervical vertebra in the accident in Horseshoe Bend on C.R. 475-N, a mile east of Springboro Road which is 1300-W. For an unknown reason the vic tim was eastbound on a motorcycle when he went off the road to his right where his cycle struck a large mail box, breaking the post off to the ground and at the same time his head struck a tree. Funeral services were Monday in LaPorte. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements here. Investigating officer was State Trooper Jay Kistler who was assisted by Carroll County Police Officers Doyle Clark and Lee Hoard and Deputy Coroner J.D. Cree.
