The Central District of New Mexico Education Assn.—New Mexico is holding its annual spring convention tonight at the Holiday Inn Midtown. Presiding will be Frutoso Valdez of Jemez, Central District president. Registration will begin at 6 p.m., with a buffet scheduled for 6:30. The opening business session will be held at 7:30 p.m. for nominations for district of fices, representatives to serve on NEA-NM commissions and committees and two positions on the NEA-NM Board of directors. The program will feature an address by Dr. Sabine Ulibarri, professor of modern language at the University of New Mexico, speaking on “The Preservation of Our Hispanic Culture.” Mrs. Elaine Breitling of Bernalillo will conduct a workshop on “Self Governance for the Teaching Profession.” Voting will take place during the session and the results will be announced before adjourn ment. Presentations will be made by the Central District Hall of Fame committee.
