Seven members of the London Lions Club will go to Troy, April 28 for the annual convention of District 13 C, scheduled for the Hobart Arena with the Troy Club acting as hosts. Those from London planning to attend are President K. R. Fich ner, First vice president Paul Good, Secretary Howard Eckert, Ross Mills, Richard Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Profitt and Dr. and Mrs. M. J. Chakeres. Lions, nicknamed “The World's Doors,” from 55 clubs in eight counties of western Ohio will as semble to roar their accomplish ments over the last year. The Lions Club of the District have complet ed over 600 individual humanitar ian projects since last September dealing with community service. Over $70,000 has been given by the Clubs in Ohio to Eye Research, their main State project. Registration will begin at noon with a Ladies program and men's business session scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Election of a new Governor and Junior Deputy Governor will take place during the business ses sion. The evening's celebration will feature the Governor's Banquet honoring this year's District Gov ernor, Richard Clark of the Troy Club. A program will be furnished by Mrs. Lois Huebner, blind organ ist from Springfield, and “The Tro janaires,” widely-known choir from Troy High School which has traveled throughout the United States and Canada as Troy's “Am bassadors of Good Will.” An im pressive Necrology Service will honor those Lions who have de parted during the last year. : Principal speaker and honored guest for the Convention Banquet will be Mr. S. A. Dodge from De troit, Michigan. Lion Dodge is a past president of Lions Interna tional and has traveled throughout the world on behalf of Lionism which is represented by over 12, 000 clubs and one-half million men in 77 nations.
