He secured hla education In the public school*. He spent a tec yearn In Cedar Fall*. Iowa. In 1851 he began farming for himself. In 1912 he moicd to Fillmore County* Minn, where he has lived ever since, and where he died April 18.1921,He wa* united In marriage to MU* Hattie 11. Skeel, Sept, 21. 1898, To th«m were born four children: Lyle E. of Djxcnport. Iowa. Mrs. Bertha V Henning lt;T Parkersburg* Iowa. Arthur M. and Dorothy E. at home. There are alo three grandchildren, one sister Ml *9 Jessie Stevens and a brother Earnest E. of Xeligh. Neb.Hi* father d:ed when he was a*r,iall boy: thu* lie became 9CQua!itl-ed with hard wtrk.
