BELOVED WOMAN DIES AFTER LONG IUNESS- * •Mrs. Olive Smith Passes Away at Her Home Lasf^Thursday Afternoon- Following an illness of a year, the last ten weeks of which she had been 'bedfast, Mrs! Olive Smith ptissed j away at her home at the comeivof.I Eighth avenue and Tenth streetf last: Thursday afternoon, at the age of 78 yeUrs. Funeral services were held ’from the home at 3 o'clock'Sunday .afternoon, a large concourse of [friends and relative*, gathering to pay a last tribute of resjflct to her memory The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Earle A. BUker and the burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.• Olive’Utley was the daughter of Lauren and Eunice Utley and was born at Brockton, N Y., Sept. 10, 1847. She cUme west with her parents in 1862’ and they located on a: farm four miles east of Marion. She was married at 1865 to Emory E. Eggles-ston to whom were bom several children. Mrs Edith Rowe died last June. Surviving children are Mrs. Coin Hollenbeck, Mrs ,W. S. Fiddler and Carl Smith. Harold Rowe, Walter and Donald Smith are surviving grandchildren. Mrs. Smith also leaves a sister, Mrs. Cl^ra Church of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Walter Utley of Keokuk Two sister*, Mrs. -Sarah Wise and Mrs. Adelaide Everts preceded her in dcUth.Mrs Smith was a member of the Methodist church, Eastern Star and W R.
