Scott Anderson, son of James and j Hannah Scott;, was born January -16bh, 1840, and died April 8th, 1902, j i aged sixty-two years, two months ] and twenty-two days.| He was united in marriage to Mar- i j garefc Ellis in September, 1865. They I were blessed with nine children, of j I which seven have proceeded him to j i the better land. He has been a resi- j ; dent of Randolph County all of his | life. Most of his time was spent in j farming.During protracted meetiDg con- j ducted by Mrs. Woodward at Farm- j land, he was happily converted, and j ever since then he has lived a devoi- j ed Christian until his death. All during his sickness he was ever patient and manifested that true loving spirit than only a Christian can enjoy. Always glad to have his friends and neighbors to come in and talk with him. He seemed so impressed with the thought that the Christian people had a great work to do, that he spoke often on this subject, and was constantly exhorting them to live up to their faith. A few days before his death, his wife was singing, “When the roll is called up Yonder,” he looked up at her and said “Yes when the roll is called up Yonder I’ll be there.”On Sunday he called his family around his bed and talked to them lovingly of their pleasant times together while here on earth, and of their happy meeting in Heaven. To Willie lie begged to keep the little church together if he possibly could, if not let it go. How true it is that we know not what another day will bring, the heart ceases to beat, the blood stands still in the veins, and | today wo carry his body to the grave.
