Honors Awarded to the South Geor wia College—B oness Changes at Mettae. M'RAE, Ga, April 22.—Last Saturday at college the pupils in the Intermediate and academic departments spoke for [speakers places and the following were awarded places: Intermediate depart ment—Cecil Ryals, Julia Lane, Lora Marcon, Ella Eason, Reuben Strozier, Mary McDuffie, Robert McRae and Au drey Adams. Academic department—Emma Cheek, Alice Barton, Allie Kennon, Vera Dyal, C. Btrogier, Maude McRae Rosa Brew fos, Lilla M'Lennan, Clyde Carswell and, Roy Girardeau. The places in collegiate departments have not been announced yet, the they are awarded on scholar ship. The coming commencement promises to be very pleasant as new features will be introduced. The notables to be here are Rev. Jno. B. Robbing, D. D. Atlanta,’ to preach the commencement sermon, Judge Jno. W. Akin to deliver the Iber- ary address and Gov. Bob. Taylor in his “Fiddle and Bow. Your correspondent was misinformed regarding the withdrawal of the insupe tion by the Lumber City board of edu cation against the board of education of Telfair county, prohibiting the pay ment of money to South Georgia col lege. The injunctions have not been withdrawn. Rev. W. J. Barton, pastor of the Bap tiss church here tendered his resigna tion to the people on Sunday the 1th Inet. Yesterday a committee was ap pointed to confer with Mr. Barton and uncertain his reasons for resigning and See if arrangements could not be made to have him reconsider his decision. F. McRae. At a meeting Satur day Mr. F. B. Stubbs, of Macon, was elected president, E. FP. McRaa, vice- President and these two with J. FP, for and H. J.
