Mrs. Baucum Elected To District Pilot PostMrs. Verble Baucum of the Mid-Jefferson County Pilot club has been elected first It. governor of District 8, Pilot International. Her election came at the district convention held April 13-15 at the Palacio Del Rio hotel in San Antonio.Her duties will be to assist the governor/ Mrs. Lucille Duderbaugh of Baytown. Mrs. Baucum will make official visits to clubs throughout District 8. The district has 47 clubs and includes all of Texas with the exception of El Paso. Felice Gonzales of the Luncheon Pilot club of Victoria was elected second It. governor.Mrs. Baucum has served her club as director, first vice president, president and corresponding secretary. She has also served as district coordinating chairman, and on numerous district and international committees as well as second vice president of District 8.She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University and Is a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary school In Nederland. Mrs. Baucum Is chapter president of Texas Alpha Psi, Alpha Delta Kappa, andsecretary-treasurer of the Nederland Chamber of Commerce.Mrs. Baucum is co-owner, with herMRS. VERBLE BAUCUMhusband, John, of Verbles Fashions in Nederland. She and her husband and their son, John, Jr., are active members of the First Baptist church.
