INQUESTS.Dbowxed ix the Yabilu—An inquest was held by Dr. Yool, at Richmond, on Saturday last, on the body of Ernest Mulford, which had been found that day in the Yarra. William Exlev deposed that, on Tnosday last, the 12tli inst., he went with the de-. ceased to bntho in the Yarra, at the end of the drain, which empties into the river. Tho deceased went iuto the river oot of his depth. He conld swim a little. He said, '* Look, I can swim on my back,” and almost immediately afterwards went down. Ho came np again, but sank ot once and without calling out. * There were several other boys with them, but none of them so old ns deponent, except the deceased. He called to some men, who came, but could do nothing to save him. John Mulford, house decorator, deposed tbat the deceased was his brother. His age was sixteen years. Having heard that liis brother was drowued whilst bathing on Tuesday last, he had been searching for tho body ever since, and had recovered it lint morning. There were no clothes upon it. No marks of violence. He ascerUinod from the boys with him, that ho was drowned in the manner stated by last witness. Verdict of the jury, “that Ernest Maliord was accidently drowned on tho 12th inst, in tho River Yarra, whilst bathing at Richmond.”
