Teacher InterviewMiss Cox, left; and Alisa Biefenberg. This week’s interview is with the one and only Miss Linda Cox, whom I had some difficulty in finding for she was roaming around town in her well knownVCadillac (oh, excuse me, I meant Rambler). But when I finally caught up with her she told me the most interesting story.Back Qn the third day of December in 1950, James and ' Dorothy Cox were- granted an .adorable baby girl, Linda Ann Cox. Later they mOved to Madrid where Linda attended high school. She was blessed with two baby• • Hbrothers; Larry and David. After high school, she went on for four years and one summer of college at the University of Northern Iowa. There she majored in vocational home economics and minored in women’s |5hysical education. In her spare time you might catch her cooking for someone who enjoys eating, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, hiking or flyfishing. Flyfishing??? When I was clear on what she meant by flyfishing, I continued the questioning. *Her favorites were, of course, thick medium rare steaks along with tossed salad and garlic toast, the color aqua, “Charlie’s Angels”, “The Poseidon Adventure”*, and refereeing girls basketball games. (HA)While at school you might find Miss Cox teaching 7-12 home economics, her favorite unit beingThe Swing Choir will perform folk-rock selections with .choreography, vocally arranged by Ed Lojeski. Participants of the State Solo and Small Group Contest held April 15 and 16 at Jamaica will also be featured. The program will conclude with selections from the Broadway musicals, “Kiss Me Kate”, “Man of La Mancha”, and “Godspell”, sung by the High School Chorus.A free-will donation plate will take the place of a general admission fee. Your comments, positive or negative, oh this type of system would be very much appreciated. The choirs are' under the direction of Diane Nielsen. We hope you will share an evening of musical variety with us.** *needlecrafts. Her pet peeve is none other than people who don’t listen to directions. She gives good advice such as, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right!Coming to the close of my questioning, I asked her my final question. If you had one day that you could spend anyway in which you wanted, how would that day go? She thought for a while, then replied, “I would spendv the morning skiing in Colorado and the afternoon walking on the beach in Oregon.” She further commented, “I’ve always wanted to go skiing but have never had the chance and the Oregon coast is a place I enjoy spending time.”Wouldn’t you know it, just as soon as she finished answering my questions, she closed her car door, revved up the engine, and was gone.— RE —NOTICEThe Junior Senior Play will not ' be held this year^' —RE —Mr and Mrs Floyd Ilermanson of Perry and Verna Calvert were Sunday afternoon callers of Mrs Mary Calvert. Evening callers were her brother, Mr and Mrs Lester Marchant of Cumberland.
