By Sanditen On the evening of March 28, the entire cadet corps was treated to a program of entertainment by the world-famous Ice Capades at the Arena in St. Louis. The cadets boarded their busses and left the campus at 6:46. The cadets had good seats for this gorgeous show. The first half of Ice Capades introduced the skating stars and the Corps de Ballet. This was followed by various programs such as “Peter Pan” and “In Old Baghdad”, two colorful themes which were superbly executed. The world’s freestyle champion, Tommy Litz, skated to music, and he was followed by amateur and professional champ ions, Margot, and Danne. The first half closed with the beautiful “Rhap sody for Piano and Ice”, a great spectacle. During the intermision the cadets crowded around refreshment counters for sandwiches, pretzels, and drinks. COLOR AND MUSIC The second half dealt with recent musical scores formed into a ballet, “Mission Impossible”. The cadets en joyed such stars as Ann Margaret Frei, Jane Bland, Tommy Litz, and others. The show ended with the su perb “Fourteen Miles form Montego Bay”. The program also included some very funny comic acts. The combined lighting effects, the musical background, and the skill and grace of the performers gave the cadets plenty to talk about on their way back to the campus. They en joyed the Ice Capades immensely.
