eBIO SAW MILL AT KOLADESTROYED YESTERDAYIP*The saw mill plant of the Kola Lumber company, a short distance south of Collins, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning at an early hour.The planing mill and all the other fixtures remain intact.The fire originated in the boiler room of the plant and It was soon aeeu that the saw mill part of the plant was doomed and by heroic work the balance of the plant was saved.Some lumber was also destroyed and about half of the timber ramps.Mr. Mulford Parker the principal owner, was In the city' last night, having come down from Elllsville, where he owns a big plant. and he stated that the total loss would bedi(prI*between $20,000 and $25,000.Mr. Parker further stated that the saw mill plant would be rebuilt; that the company owned a big lot of timber—enough to keep the mill run ning at It, full capacity for at least four years without purchasing any additional timber. The company owns a logging road that runs out ten miles from Kola, and it was Mr. Parker's opinion that they could not afford to leave the plant In its present condition and that rebuilding wras a certainty, but until he had gone over the situation, after arriving on the scene, he could not state when work would begin.Mr. Parker did not know the exact amount of Insurance that was In farce, but It is understood to bo $6,000.
