Cinto,asn-Henry Fearnandez and Joseph Baptist,co Iurlt;were going north on a hand car and j ofisonwere just in the act of rounding a sharp j Mrcurve when thev discovered the local geiI *9 Vfreight bound from Havana to Litchfield weciose upon them. The four men jumped coiuehe‘a,infrom the car and Anthony called to his poiassistants to help lift it from the track, inwhich they proceeded to do, but the un- j potisnafortunate foreman w’as not quick enough plain his movements and the engine gerstruck him in the back of the head, j fielr'may:r.er ■ a:ieloE.h»crushing his skull and knocking him moseveral feet distant from the track. Themotrain came to a halt and Anthony was forpicked up and placed in the caboose andbrought to Jacksonville. He was unconscious, but did not cease to breathene:to ipuluntil the train arrived in the yards anthere. The body was at once borne to nesthe home of his stricken family, near uaethe Lafayette avenue crossing, and the | macoroner notified of the accident.
