Before Mi*s P» well could reach the buggy ot.it, the hor-e sprang rapidly forward Mr. J true could not iwcure the lines, which were tied to the dashboard, and in the attempt, was thrown to the ground in C'.mim quenre of the «*pplt;-«itc wheel -triking a balf-ujwsicd gate in iu progress. A few rod- further the- buggy wheel, on the aide or. which Mi-- l*owe!l was clinging. -tr ick in owk. and the partly doni'd'Mml buggy was in vert id. Mis* Puw«ll w is violently thrown iu the air, her head »iriking the tree and falling with crushing force upon the coupling of the buggy. She wa-ten derly carried to her f UlierV Ik-usB, and \)r.
