John Flemming Captured,John Fleming a negro who killed his wife in Lunenburg, Va., March 7tb, and has since been in hiding, was captured in Davie county early this morning by Deputy Sheriff J. H. Miugis, of Woodleaf. Mr. Miugis was on the hunt for another man and called at the house of Jim Clement in Davie county, where he found Fleming in bed. He had no trouble in making the arrest. The prisoner was brought to Salisbury this morning and placed in jail to await instructions from the Virginia authorities. There was a reward of $35 offered for Fleming’s capture. Fleming is a bad character and is quite well known among the officers.This arrest speaks well for Mr. Mingis’ vigilance and ability as an officer. He had not seen Flem-^inee he was a small boy, but recognized him at once and there was nodelay in making the capture.
