Republican, April 14, 1900.Mr. Arthur Patridge and wife of Mil-bank,.visited with Mr. J. M. Corakie and wife iaat Saturday and 8unday.What is probably the largest land deal ever made in this country was consum-ated Monday when Thurman Craigo of Monroe, Wis.,andC. F. Porter ot this oitv, purchased ot Becker Chadburne of Browns Valley, who were acting as agents tor outside parties, 1137 acres ot land in Lake.Leeand Qeneseo township*. The gentlemen purchased the land as aninvestment and will probably hold it for some time.The steel range men have been operating in this vicinity for the past two weeks and from what we can learn they have surceeded in getting a number or orders tor their wares at extravagant prices. As good a stove as they are selling for 965 can be purchased in our hardware stores at 945. Patronize your home merchants and save money and you will never have notes in which there are clauses you never dreamed of, staring you in the lace when you oome to settle.
