MISCELLANEOUS.Afkeay and Mukdsr at Clarksville, Ark.—The Fort Smith Herald of the 2d inst., has the following account of a very serious affray that occurred at Clarksville on the 24th nit. The Herald obtained it from a gentleman recently from that place : It appears that one William Eubottom rode up into a crowd cf twenty-five or thirty men, in the public square, and mad** at attack upon Rufus Sadler, by getting down off the mule he was riding, drawing and cocking his pistol, at the same time Sadler drew his pistol also. Bubottom's pistol exploded the cap, but Sadler’s pistol fired, striking Eubottom in the breast, the ball came out under the arm, and struck Mr. Batsot, who was sitting near, on tba thigh. Rubottom then threw bi.« pistol at Sadler and missed, drew his knife and rushed on him and cut him severely in the thigh. The Sheriff parted them. Robot tom then drew a pistol, and shot an rid gentleman by the name of Murphy through the breast, killing him in a few minutes.— He theu made another attack on Sadler, and after having fired his revolver at hint two or three times, made hia escape. He was assisted in his escape by two or three friends. We understand great excitement prevails at Clarksville, and that a large reward (§2.G$0) ia offered for the appre hension of the murderer. Murphy had loaned Rubottom several hundred dollars, and as Eubottom waa about leaving for California, was about to attach his property. Mr. Murphy, it is said, was an excellent .and inoffensive citizen.
