Circus theme at April meetingOAK FOREST - Cub Scout Pack No. 341. The next pack meeting will be held on Friday, April 28 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. The theme for April will be “Circus” so bring your pennies and be prepared to have fun.At the March meeting our cake auction was a huge success. Ed Mel bourn did a marvelous job as auctioneer and the pack collected a total of $87.50. Themoney will be used to take the scoutsto a ball game later this spring.The following fathers and sons wonawards for their cakes. For design: Mark Ramage and father with Snoopy, Richard Kavanagh and father with the Cub Scout Emblem; for decoration: David Klebenow and father for a Cub Scout Jamboree, Bob Plutz and father with an Easter bunny.And the following new families were welcomed into the pack. Mr. Mrs. Budz and their son Joe, Mr. and Mrs. Graziano and Billy, Mrs. Priz and Don, Mr. and Mrs. Vanessie and Rick, Mr.and Mrs. Pasquarella and Donnie.Graziano will be the new Webelos leader with Mr. Pasquarella as his assistant. Mrs. Pasquarella will be a new den mother with Mrs. Graziano as assistant.The scout show will be held on April 22 - 23 in Crown Point, Ind. The boys will be out selling tickets so please welcome them at your door.Awards. Mrs. Melbourn was given an award for his past service as assistant cubmaster. Joe Monchonski, Bobcat pin; Robert Ryan, Wolf Badge; Tony Englert, Outdoorsman; Richard Kavanagh, Aqua-naut, Athlete, Citizen, Scholar, Scientist.In ServiceNEW LENOX Navy Chief Petty Officer Douglas G. Shreffler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald D Shreffler, 253 W. Wood St., New Lenox, has begun basic flight training at Pensacola.When he completes Aviation Officer Candidate School he will be commissioned an Ensign and begin more than a year of intensive ground and in-flight training leading to his designation as a Naval Aviator.
