GREEN BAY — Green Bay, Premontre had a relatively easy time Friday afternoon in dispos ing of the Xavier track squad... $144-31%4, in a raw and biting wind at the Premontre track. Xavier's only lead of the afternoon came after the first race, the high hurdles, in which Ed Wenning and Steve Hardy finished first and second respec tively. That gave the Hawks an 8-1 lead. In the next event, the 1M-yard dash, the Cadets took all three places to take a 108 lead which they never lost. Besides Wenning, Mike Fer ron and Bill Pfefferle were the only other Xavier winners. Fer ron capped the 440-yard run in, 4.9 while Pfefferle won the discus with a toss of 146 feet, 2% inches. Premontre swept a total of four events in the meet, the 100 and 220 yard dashes, the pole vault and the shot put. The Cadets won both relays, the 380- yard and mile. The Cadets also took a first and second in the mile run and low hurdles. The meet was the first con ference action for both teams in the Fox Valley Catholic Confer ence.
