The Hera 1 dBaseball SquadAims For OpenerPiBjOutdoor Practice SessionsBegin the Week to Ready Team for Hamilton BattleFrom what I saw on the sidelines of the past two weeks’ practice, this 1946 squad figures to rate with the best of Coach Gibbs career here at Hobart. The return of many men from the armed services has made this an experienced, mature club that should turn in a far better brand of ball than any of the younger pre-war outfits. With the same situation evident at most 11 schools, the level of college baseball should be extremely high and keen.Preparing for opening day, just one week from today, against Hamilton College, the baseball squad has been holding extensive practice desp te the fact that the return of cold and rainy weather has hampered the efforts of the Hobart players. For the first time in three years, Coach Gibbs can field a teani which 1 he is sure will stay with him hroughout the season.
