The P.O question is the “bone of contention” in our village, at present. The Dems have but one room suitable for the purpose and Czar Grover's recent edict relative to reappointments has practically knocked out the can didacy of the owner of the room. To say that the local Democracy are work ed up over the matter, is just stating it mild. It’s something the sheep-shear ing, great fun for those who look on, but grief for the sheep. The latest novelty in the fracas is a petition head ed with the name of a “Democratic voter and patron” who began and ended his name with capital letters, something in this manner, Johnsmith, D. E. Spade and a family and W. H. Wright and wife, contemplate visiting the World’s Fair in May. D. W. McConnell was __ elected director of our public schools Monday evening. Jos. Maxwell spent several days in Mount Vernon last week on braines matters. J. B. Lambert's aged father is spend ing the week with “Jake.” The old gentleman lives in the Keystone state. Henry Martin and wife of Kenton, Ohio, visited with H. 8S. Eliott and family several days lag week, omM TIDDLER.
