OBITUARY.Ret. P. Buckingham, lato ofLogansport,Ia. died iti Lagro, of the Typhus Fever, on the 16th iitst., in the 48th year of his age. Ilia death was peaceful. As a Christian minister, Mr. B. was very popular. His ministerial dignity in the pulpit, and his bland, courteous manner, iu hia private walks, aod social intercourse in society, won the affections and commanded respect among all with whom ho mingled. it is due to his memory to say, as a speaker, his oratoriat powers were fur above tho ordinary' class of public speakers. When inspired in hia subject, he irould often speak in strains of sacred eloquence effecting his audience to tears. His last illness was short, but borne with Christian patience and humble resignation. He has left four sons and a large circle of friends to lament hia sudden and unexpected death.II. B. BEERS.
