Mr. and Mrs. George Richards were honored guests Sunday in the home of their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Richards and family of Osage, in observing their 51st wedding an niversary. The occasion was a potluck family dinner and guests includ ed Mr. and Mrs. Don Zwanziger and son Leonard; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Swinton, Judy, Carrol and Jean; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Maine and Pamela; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Waidelich and De Ann, all from Nashua; and Mrs. Jack Lature of Cedar Rapids, ATTEND BAPTISM Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Chandler f attended the baptism of their grandson, Stephen, four month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cline, West Liberty. The service was in the Methodist Church. The Chandlers were accompan ied by their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Frownfelter and daughter Kathryn of Charles City. After the church services all were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cline’s mother, Mrs. H. D. Cline. MARK TWO BIRTHDAYS Guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Shepard were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shepard and Mrs. Shepard’s sister, Mrs. Lydia Owens, all of Allison; son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Shepard and sons, Howard and Calvin, Cedar Falls; and Mr. Shep ard’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Cain and their son Roy and wife of Waverly. The occasion was Mr. Shepard’s 81st birthday anniversary, also Mrs. Shepards 81st birthday an niversary which occurs in about two weeks. Rev. Ruth Husband returned Tuesday to her home at Ames after visiting several days with Mrs. Harry Strawson. The ladies were joined for Easter Sunday dinner by Frank Nolte and Miss Jennie Hathaway, both from Wav erly, and Howard Crooks, Nashua, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Fulton and their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fulton and baby, all of McGregor, Minn., were weekend guests of their mother, Mrs. Jessie Wood and their brother and sisters and families. The Minnesota guests were entertained in the Herbert Gaffe and Raymond Wright homes. Guests Sunday of Mrs. Emil Kieln were her brother and wife and her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nordmeyer of London, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Kiehn and family of Clarksville, Mr. and Mrs. David Tuttle of Ionia were Sunday guests of Mrs. Tuttle’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Rein hard Wolff. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanson and family of Ackley visited his mother, Mrs. Eva Hanson; also his brother and wife, Dr. and Mrs. C. K. Hanson and family, over Easter. Mrs. Mable Gerry accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Buchan of Waterloo, in a visit Wednesday with Mrs. Gerry’s sister and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Win ther at Osage. Mrs. Minnie Poppe accompanied her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Ellis and daughter Mildred of Greene, to Decorah Sunday. They had din ner with another daughter and sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Garland Morse and family. Guests Easter Sunday in the Paul Demro home were their children, the j Dean Shultzes and four children of Greene and Mr. Shultz’s mother, Mrs. Clint Shultz of Charles City and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Maulsby, Nancy and Ernest III of Minneapolis. Miss Nancy, who spent the past week with her grandparents,ac companied her parents home. Mr and Mrs. Russell Selvig and children spent Easter Sunday with Mr. Selvig’s mother, Mrs. Mary Selvig, at Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pross and Johnie spent Easter with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Gill at Mt. Pleasant. Monday, they visited another daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Buffington, at Dav enport. Superintendent and Mrs. Leon ard Gustafson spent Friday and Saturday at Ringsted with his brother, Roland Gustafson and family. They were also guests Easter Sunday of relatives in Storm Lake. NASHUA BOYS IN Co. C. CONCERT APRIL 21 The Cornell College Choir, Mount Vernon, Ia., will present a concert Sunday evening, April 21 at 7:30 p. m. at the Central Methodist church in Charles City. John Staley has been a member of the choir since last September and John Clark joined the choir in February. Both boys are fresh man. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lantow Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz and family of Osage, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lan tow and Mrs. Norman Ferguson of New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Max Benner and family, Sonia and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Liddle and family, Nashua. The occasion honored the Lawton’s son, James Robert on the event of his con firmation. FOR MRS. FERGUSON Mrs. Charles Ferguson, who with her husband recently mov ed into town, was honored at a welcome party in her home last Thursday afternoon when a group of ladies from the Methodist church were her guests. The ladies brought and served a nice lunch and also presented Mrs. Ferguson an Easter filly. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Bennett spent Easter Sunday with the former’s aunt and husband, Mr. and Mrs. George Hollar, in Waverly. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stocks of Mason City called Sunday after noon on Arthur’s father, Dr. Wal ter Stocks and wife. SOLDIER IS GUEST William Allen White who has been stationed with the army in Germany since last fall, was a guest Sunday of his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fergu son. He was accompanied by Miss Sarah Cozzens of Iowa Falls. Mrs. Ruby Ferguson, Nashua was also a guest of the Fergusons. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fisk spent Easter Sunday with their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Oldie and family at Winona, Minn. Little Miss Joyce Hickie of Den ver is spending the week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boeck.
