ANNA GERRISH PASSED AWAYAnna Stella Gerrish, daughter of Jonathan and Mary Linton, was born Feb. 2, 1859, at St. Louis, Mo., and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mary, at Woodlawn, 111., on Friday, April 11, 1930 at 6:45 p. m„ age 71 years, 2 months’ and 9 clays.She was united in marriage on June 23, 1892 to Levi Gerrish who passed away June 29,' 1901.To this union were born three children, Mary and David, one having died in infancy.She professed faith in Christ and united with the Christian Church at Patoka in 1894 and lived a faithful j life until death released her of her life’s work and suffering.She leaves to mourn her departure a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Wood of Woodlawn, 111., a son, David Gerrish of Mt. Vernon, 111., live grandchildren, four step-daughters, 1 stepson, namely, Mrs. Robert Foltz ofj Sandoval, Mrs. Tom Shepherd, Mrs. Ola Foltz of Colorado Springs, Cold., Mrs. Charles Ververs, of Keysor, Colo., and Walter Gerrish of Lancaster, 111. Also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elnora Linton of Patoka, and a host of other relatives and friends.Anna came to Patoka with her parents at the age of 7 years and lived the greater part of her life in this vicinity.She was respected and admired by many friends and relatives for her courage and ability to manage financial affairs and shoulder the responsibility of raising a family when she was left at her husband’s death with little children to care for.She will be sadly missed by family and friends.But she has gone to claim the reward awaiting her.The funeral service was held at the Christian Church in Patoka, Sunday afternoon, Rev. F. O. Fannon of Centralia officiating and interment followed in Patoka cemetery.
