OBITUARY. Elizabeth, the daughter of Jesse and Nancy Neal, was born October 14, 1828, died April 14, 1901, was married to Alex ander Monroe February 18, 1849. He passed away October 30, 1854. There was born to them two children, a son and daughter. She accepted Christ and united with the Methodist church when she was young in years. Of this church she remained a faithful member until the close of life. Toward the end she was resigned, and expressed herself as being at peace with her Maker. She often spoke of her happy anticipations regard ing the future, and at one time quoted a part of that appropriate hymn, ‘Jesus Lover of My Soul, Let me to Thy Bosom Fly,’ and said: “How true it is. He has loved me, and I will soon to His bosom fly’’; and also said she had often felt His presence. She leaves four brothers, one son and one daughter and many friends and acquaintances behind. Rev. H. M. Elwyn conducted the fu neral at the M. HE. church here at 2 p. m. The attendance was quite large and the interment was in the beautiful Brooks Cemetery. ‘‘Aunt Betsey,’ as she was familiarly calreu, was indeed a true ex ample of a devoted Christian life, and the world was thus made better by her having spent so many useful years in it. Oh, how she will be missed as one so much beloved from our midst.
