A SENSATIONAL CRIME.SANDING A CORPSE TO AMERICA IN A CASK.A shocking murder was detected at Copenhagen on Saturday. On January T an old factory messenger, who was sent out to cash some bills, disappeared without leaving any trace. The missing messenger frequently went to the works of a soap manufacturer named Philipsen (who baa been arrested on suspicion of having Bet fire to his place), and was there the day he disappeared. Philipsen was arrested at Hamburg cn board a steamer just leaving for Cape Town, and taken to Copenhagen On Sifcorday he confessed that he bad strangled the messenger, robbed him, and packed the body in a cask, whioh was filled up with chloride of lime. This cask was dispatched on January IB by steamer to New York, to be forwarded to a pretended firm at Racine, Wisconsin The murderer is 34 years of age, and was married a year ago.
