This being the Thanksgiving Day appointed, the fame was ftrily and Devoutly obferved at Church in this place, then all the Gates of the Town, Fort, and Top of the Steeple, were deck’d with Colours Flying? the Trainbands were in Arm?,. and fired feveral Volleys of Small-fhot; and the Mayor and 'urats ordered the Great Guns from the Forts and Ships in Harbour to be Fired, and a very great Bonfire was made in the'Fort} and all pirions denionftrated their Zeal for the Preferva-tion of His Msjefty; afterwards the Mayor and Jurates Invited all the Trainbands, and fome other Gentlemen that were preibnt to a fplendid Treat, upon the Coif of the Corporation j where they concluded the Day by Drinking the Kings Health, wifliing him Viftory over all his Enemies, and a long and happy Reign. This Day the GrcyhounS and Shark Brigantine failed hence, with 12 laden Veiiels for the Downes.
